So....door speakers sorted, the one that was not working sorted, handbrake lever changed, latch guide nipples replaced, correct S/s screws in to replace what Mr allan key guy had put in?, correct 10 mm head nuts fitted to the rear light clusters, fresh black sealing goo applied to the doors for the membranes to seal, one at some point (drivers) had been fifed in place with clear sealant and gaffer tap, the passenger side looked like it had exploded over everything? battery brackets and clamp cleaned and painted...
TRE boots replaced, billies off at the front to replace the bottom damper bushes and to give them a quick refurb ( waiting on black and yellow paint to arrive to finish),rear tie down eyes removed de-rusted,treated and painted as to was the rear under brace (Back in place only finger tight for the minute), rear sway bar and the front and rear sway bar bush brackets, need to do the front sway bar yet and baby teeth, underneath heat shields sorted ,treated and painted, all stripped from underneath so i am ready to start attacking the outside/underneath, good old Mr allan key guy did not let me down on the removal of the back bumper....

Update time....Under side deep cleaned, rear under brace de-rusted and painted, rear tie down eyes de-rusted and painted, rear sway bar and brackets de-rusted and painted, front sway bar de-rusted and painted, front billies taken back and painted,front inner wings treated and painted, front treated and painted, slam panel treated and undercoat added to get back to it with the correct colour further down the line.
Old seam sealer removed that was dry and lifting with rust underneath, fresh seam seal added after being treated and painted, drivers 1/4 light door frame rubbed down of surface rust,treated and painted, looks like someone had rubbed it back in the past to do and left it?
Suspension and sway bars will go back on after the treating and underseal.
Backs of the wings painted ready for under seal.
So she is at the point where it is underneath to make good and prep for undersealing etc, then its down to the nitty gritty bits , like deep cleaning and prepping etc like stripping the boot out etc etc
i have a new passenger side head light frame complete to paint and swap out and re-paint the bottom of the inner wing as at some pint someone as painted it with a sky blue by hand, i am guessing from surface rust, and they had painted everything so the wrong colour so it all needs to come out and be put back right

After noticing that at some point work has been carried out in her past and was not to a great standard which looks like it was in the land of the rising sun...hence the need for a bit of correction work carried out on Project 14 Autolinks 1 8 S.Spec red badge in laguna blue, pics look far worse than it was as the seam sealer had never been put back, so I removed all the drivers side inner wing items to assess the wheel arch before cutting out and cutting a new repair piece to be welded in place and re painted, just waiting on welding it all in, seam sealing and painting...painted all the rest and seam sealed purely for protection .
The other side (Passenger side) had been hand painted with a sky blue paint including the headlight frame, seam sealer was still very light if any but survived better, so all taken back, treated seam sealed painted and clear coat added to the inner wing and a new head light frame taken back, painted and everything swapped over and everything re fitted, cleaned, greased...
While I was at it I also sorted the slam panel that needed refresh, and added the spacer gap slam panel to rad sponge, and the outer panel of the underneath of the boot lid...so just waiting on welding the drivers..
Then onto the back sills and arches, and under sealing...

I honestly dont think that people appreciate the amount of time and energy let alone expertise that Wayne puts into not only his MX5s but every other one he touches.

All welded in,seam sealed ( i gave up on tryoung to make it look factory),just waiting on the paint to arrive to box this off and start on the next section...

So onto to next bits, passenger side front back arch panel and sill, cut out all the bad and made up a new section for both, welded in ,dressed, treated , seam sealed, stone chipped..
Drivers side front sill also needed a new section making up with drainage points and captive nut for the bottom of the wing to be bolted to, used a S/Steal nut so it won't rust, welded in,dressed seam sealed ,treated and stone chipped, also ,took back the back arch panel,treated, seam sealed and added stone chipped all ready for when she gets attacked with underseal..
