Part: something?

I've not updated this and I've not really been great with taking photos.

So the cars undersealed, tinted raptor the entire underside the correct montego blue. The subframes, arms, hubs, anti roll bars and some other little bits have been powdercoated. I've pillaged my SE for parts. BC coilovers, SVT brakes and a 6 speed gearbox (this is yet to be fitted). The car isn't as far as I'd like it to be along but that's all on me.

Here's the rear subframe all loosely assembled with new wheel bearings and bushes.

Here is the underside with some more bits bolted to it! Quite proud of this bit so far.

So I've tried going up every Friday after work, with Christmas and stuff it's just not really happened. Hoping to getting the car home and painted in the next few months so I can get much more time on it.

I have the harsher versions in my SE, I don't find them uncomfortable. Plus when I do shows with friends we sometimes take the longer routes for a bit of spirited driving. I think they'll be a good compromise for what the car will actually get used for.

The SE someone had already removed them before I got the car unfortunately. I would like a replacement though for once that gets repainted. I'll need a replacement for the RS too.

The rs ltd yes. I even cut the old one out of the quarter panel that's been replaced.

So it's become a common theme that I take this week off work each year and spend it at kelvins workshop. This years no different. Progress is slow and boring.

So last time you saw the car it might have looked like this.

So long story short. I've never primed a car before. I had a go. Didn't do a great job and it was thin in places. You live and you learn. No big deal. So ive had to prep it all for it to be done again. This weeks just been paint prep and it's been boring.

I don't really have many photos to show but I'll just explain instead. The body panels have been blocked and primed atleast once. The body was sat in epoxy primer. Filler work (so some people cry about using filler and in some situations I agree, but this cars had welding and to blend out the body work it needs it. It's not covering rust or dodgy welding obviously but it's impossible to get it perfect in metal work.)The quarters whilst new had some low spots which have been filled and blocked, the sill halfway down has had filler just to cover the weld line, the doors and bootlid have had some just to get rid of minor ripples/dents).

Even prepped the inside of the doors because I want to do everything as nice as possible.

Only major upside to this week is I've managed to get the sideskirts fitted and the car will be in it's final primer ready for the last stage of paint prep.

The plan is to keep going working some Fridays, getting the interior back together then as much as I can that can be bolted back to the body. Im going to be putting the 6 speed in at the workshop too and hopefuly finishing up the underside. Then to bring it home to do all the final touches.
