Drain tray removal

Postby timb » Fri Oct 25, 2024 8:38 pm

Hello fellas, I'm slowly being driven nuts by one of those christmas tree trim clips that has found it's way to the cavity under the drainage tray (I vaguely remember dropping one somewhere when I put the new soft top on, and thinking 'I'll never see that again', how wrong I was)....every time I change direction I can hear it roll around and make a little 'clunk' as it hits the side

I've managed to locate it with a cheap amazon boroscope, but none of my cunning plans to fish it out have come to fruition - sticky sticks, sucking and blowing haven't got me any closer, so I'm thinking I should probably give up being clever and just remove the tray. I'm wondering if someone's done it and how it comes out, do I need to take the hood off or can I manage with it in place?

Many TIA,
Tim

Never had to but I know how annoying it will be. Many years ago had roof rails fitted to my focus estate. They left a small round cut out within the roof lining.drove me nuts.

It can be done without removing the roof fully but fiddly.

Thanks Wayne, how are they held in? I can see a plastic button not far from the middle of the tray, and I think the tray slides into the drain tube, are there more fixings?
