Mazda 6 2016 2.2 sky activ 2.2 diesel turbo issue

Postby Mazda6 » Fri Jan 31, 2025 10:42 pm

I have a Mazda 6 with a possible turbo issue diagnosed by local garage. However I would like to know if there are any Mazda 6 specialists in and around Manchester that can have a look and diagnose the real problem?

Many thanks

So why did they say it was the turbo?

The cars symptoms that I noticed was a knocking sound from the engine, only when accelerating. Followed by a yellow engine light. Took to local garage who plugged in the computer and found a: turbocharge boost pressure code. I was advised to change the turbo boost pressure sensor. Which I did. However, this issues is still there. Any specialists with these cars in the area that can help?

So after changing the sensor, you are still getting yellow smoke ,and did you clear the engine light and it came straight back.

I have not cleared the engine light, as I don’t have a device my self. But the engine light came back on and there is still a knocking sound when accelerating. So it seems like changing the sensor did nothing. I was told that if changing the sensor doesn’t work, then might need a new turbo, which is expensive. Hence I would like a specialist garage to look at it?
