Tyre width

Postby Lumphammer » Thu Sep 03, 2020 10:38 pm

Apologies if this is misplaced but I'm not sure where it best fits.

I presently have two sets of Team Dynamics Pro Race 2 wheels, they are 15" x 7J. I'm looking at good performance r-compound track orientated tyres in either 195 or 205 (Federal RS-R, Nankang NS-2R etc).

At what amount of power does this tyre width become a problem on a track?

Grateful for any opinions, I appreciate the question is the wrong way round to conventional wisdom.

From Mr Roddinson.....

You will be ok unless you start going above 250/260bhp
Then you will need a softer tyre R888 or Dunlop direzza
